Where to Find Tire Pressure on Your Vehicle

The recommended PSI is on the driver-side door jamb or in the owner manual. The tire sidewall is a maximum, not the target.

Short answer

Look for the Tire and Loading Information label on the driver-side door jamb or B-pillar. If it is gone, use the owner manual. Some vehicles also repeat the number near the fuel filler. Do not use the sidewall number as the recommended pressure.

Open the driver door and look at the rear edge of the door or the body pillar it closes against. The placard lists tire size and cold inflation pressure, sometimes with a second column for a different load or tire size. Photograph it so you are not guessing at a dark pump.

If the car has been repainted, wrecked, or imported, the label can be missing or for the wrong market. The owner manual is the backup. A random internet PSI for '2018 Civic' is not a source; trims, tire sizes, and front/rear splits differ.

The tire sidewall maximum is printed large because it is a safety limit for that tire construction. Putting everyday air to that number can change ride, wear, and grip. Use it only as a ceiling you must not exceed, never as the target.

Apps and cluster screens may show current pressure. They do not replace the placard as the source of the recommended value.
